Recent HQ Relocations in San Diego (Week 2)

EROAD

EROAD relocated its North American headquarters from Portland, Oregon, to San Diego in August, 2023. The new office space is located in Carmel Mountain Ranch and is part of the Avenue of Science Center, a 110,391-square-foot office and flex building. 

EROAD's decision to move was impacted by San Diego’s history in the telematic space (Qualcomm). Additionally, EROAD is seeing significant growth in its enterprise space and sees San Diego as a great location for job recruitment. Local universities like SDSU, UCSD, and PLNU offer undergraduate programs in fields like engineering, data science, and AI, which will create a valuable talent pipeline.

EROAD is a global leader in fleet performance management and helps companies make real-life decisions, using real-time fleet data. On December 1st, 2021, EROAD acquired Cortex, another New Zealand-based company. Cortex U.S. office is also located in the same suite at the Avenue of Science Center. Cortex provides companies with insights into their vehicles and equipment through video and data.
